omg

ucla lets you upload your own picture for the id card. i’ve never heard of anything so mercifully wonderful.

thinking…

the last normal conversation we’d ever have: “i wonder how he’s dealing?”

we had a good laugh over that unintentional joke. i was in new york with my parents, inside pier 1 imports. it’s weird how clear that memory is for me.

after that phone call, there would be silence. then anger. then distance and sadness. it sounds like i’m talking about a breakup; in a way, it kind of was one. it’s been two years.

a weight off my…body.

so i’ve been going to the gym about 4-5 times a week since early january and eating healthy…and it’s working! i’m very happy to say that yesterday i clocked in at a weight 20 pounds below what i started at. i have about 10-15 more pounds left to lose before i reach my goal; i’m just happy i’m over halfway there! i’ve had experience in the past with losing weight really rapidly by barely eating…in the summer between my freshman and sophomore years of high school, i went from 160 down to about 120 pounds in the span of 2, 2 1/2 months. this also was on a 5’7 frame, which may look good on some people but just looked kind of sickly on me. i was more patient this time around and have been trying to develop better habits and focus on my long-term goals instead of getting caught up in wanting to look better immediately. it’s been hard to stay motivated with results happening much more slowly, but i feel a lot better, fitter, and, most importantly, healthier. i definitely have to thank my gym buddy, gabysayshi, for sticking with me, too! we’ve pleasantly surprised ourselves with how dedicated we’ve managed to be.

20 down, 15 to go! let’s do this!

linguistic anthropology

doing an assignment on regional accents in the united states and it reminded me of a super cool accent website bluedogdays showed me a few months ago. along with this one that she showed me, which i highly recommend, my professor brought this new one to the table. check it out — you’ll get the craziness of the above map explained in detail! super interesting stuff.

that wedding dress: i would wear it as a regular dress...well a regular super pretty dress lol. It's so beautiful, yet simple and elegant! I WANT I WANT I WANT.

i KNOW. i love it. you’re right; i guess it’s a little too casual for a wedding, but i can see it maybe working for a beach ceremony. eh, regardless, like you said, it is very beautiful! makes me want to go shoppin’ for some fancy schmancy clothes.
